October 3, 2010 Race Information
  • 948 Beach Road, Siesta Beach, Sarasota 34242.  Start time 7:30 a.m.
  • Duathlon and 1st wave of triathlon start on the beach at the YELLOW guard stand.
  • Sign up early! Race limited to 800. Consider becoming a $500 sponsor which includes 3 entries or a relay plus great benefits: Sponsor Packet
  • Entry Fees: $60 Early Registration, June 1st $70, Sept.1st $80, Expo $90.                   Relays $120 Early Registration, June 1st $130, Sept. 1st $140, Expo $150.
  • Race Divisions: Age Group, Clydesdale (men 200+ pounds), Athena (ladies 150+ pounds), Relays (triathlon only). Relays 2 or 3 people; male, female, or mixed.
  • Awards: Overall & Masters female & male Champions 1st-2nd place, top 5 Individuals, top 3 relays in each division.
  • No Race Day Registration (Packet Pick-Up Only).
  • Race Course: Gulf Swim 1/2 mile, bike 13 miles on paved roads once around Siesta Key, 5k beach run on packed sand. Duathlon starts with 2 mile beach run. Check course maps at right. Check back for updates.
  • Great race support from the Sarasota YMCA Sharks Swim Team with lots of cheering to motivate athletes throughout the course.
  • An experienced triathlete will be available at the expo to answer questions. See tips for novice triathletes.
  • NO REFUNDS for any reason.
  • Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unsafe conditions. Cancellation would only occur in the event of a hurricane or similar emergency.
  • All atheles must show photo I.D. to pick up packet. USAT rule; no I.D. no race!
  • Race rules from the head USAT referee for the SK Triathlon.
  • Each duathlete and triathlete will receive a timing chip worn around the ankle during the race. The chip must be returned at the finish line!
  • Awards & post race party on Siesta Beach, featuring the famous Sharks Swim Team hospitality spread! 2010 menu inlcudes Stonewood Grill, Cosimo's Too!, and Moe's Southwest Grill.

Expo & Registration (Packet Pick-Up)
  • Expo hours: Saturday, October 2nd 12:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Expo: YMCA Welch Teen Center, 8301 Potter Park Drive, Sarasota, 34238 map
  • Athletes MUST SHOW PHOTO I.D. & USAT card at check-in (Includes each relay member.) Photo I.D. required by USAT. No I.D. No Race!
  • USAT membership required; includes each relay member, duathlete, & triathlete. One day $10 pass can be purchased  through online registration. Mailed entries must buy one day pass at packet pick-up with cash or check only.
  • No race day registration.  Packet pick-up will be available.
